speaking on behalf of these guys but in my opinion, toxic masculinity is the belief that men must be tough, dominant, aggressive, and boys don't cry. This is potentially harmful for men who think otherwise and makes them think that they must have those traits to be a man, despite not wanting to. I am not saying you must have those traits. You can have those traits if you want, regardless of gender. A general rule of thumb for me is as long as you eat well, sleep well, exercise and have a healthy BF%, do whatever you want as long as it is legal and does not harm yourself or others. Be gay, be trans, be a femboy or a vegan activist for all I care. Masculinity or feminism is not toxic in itself, but utilizing those traits in a toxic way is very much toxic.
